Pass the Card

As promised in an earlier post, here is how to play PASS THE CARD (Ellen's house rules).  A good party game!

Each player gets three tokens (for example: poker chips, pennies, Oreo Cookies....)

Use a regular deck of playing cards.

Aces are "high."
Kings are "wild."

Each player is dealt one card, face-down. (You may look at your own card.)

Goal: To NOT have the low card at the end of the hand.

The player to the left of the dealer goes first.

The player decides whether or not to swap their current card with the person directly to their left. If "yes," then the person on the left must trade unless they are holding a king. (If dealt a king, you get to keep it and the person to your right must keep their original card.)

If the dealer wants to swap, they must swap with the deck.

Everyone shows their cards at the end of the hand. The player with the lowest card gives up a token to the center of play. (If a tie, both give up a token.)

Once someone is out of tokens, they are out of the game.

The last player holding a token is the winner.

(BEWARE: If you use Oreo Cookies as tokens, you are limiting the number of times you can play the game. Players will end up eating their lost tokens....)
