We had a cookout after church today.
I went through the food line with my friend Trista, and we ended up dining on the front steps of the church building. Lew joined us after he had gotten his food. Trista's husband was on kid duty somewhere else in the parking lot.
Lots of cars honked at us as they drove by. The church is located on U.S. Route 1, after all!
It really was a lovely day for a cookout, and it was nice that so many of our church family stayed for it.
When Lew and I got home, we lost no time in getting down to the beach for a walk. The tide was coming in, so we didn't have much time to spare.
There were a lot of people at the beach.
A lot of people . . . .
The last "hurrah" of summer, I guess.
And we are now down to only one more day of "vacation mode." Say it isn't so!
