Today is Patriot's Day in Maine and Massachusetts. The Red Sox always play a home game on Patriot's Day. Today's game had a start time of 11:00 a.m.
As I said yesterday, I am not superstitious. But did my post put undue pressure on the Red Sox to keep up their winning streak?
Perhaps so.
The game is over and they lost, 1-0. They didn't even score. Not one stinkin' run.
I will now change the subject....
I just read online that today is officially Patriot's Day in Maine, but Patriots' Day in Massachusetts. (Note the difference in where the apostrophe is placed.)
The holiday schedule on the State of Maine website lists it as Patriots Day -- no apostrophe. Some local newspapers also omit the apostrophe.
This is all just too confusing!
