Good Friday

I love celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ at Christmas-time.  But what was the ultimate reason for His birth?

We are observing it today:  the crucifixion.

Unlike other times when I tend to exaggerate on my blog, today I do not when I say that Jesus' death on the cross was the single, most crucial event in all of history.  (And it was followed by something really big, which we will celebrate on Sunday!)

So today, let's remember and give thanks for His forgiveness.
"... He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him,
and by His wounds we are healed."  (Isaiah 53:5, NIV)
