We ended up having a spontaneous contest to see who could find the most sand dollars. The final tally:
20 -- Kaelen
15 -- Lew
11 -- Tracy
Congratulations to Kaelen on her victory! (My showing ended up being quite respectable, given my extremely slow start.)
Toward the latter part of our walk, Lew noticed a couple seagulls gnawing on something in the water. As they were close to shore, Lew waded out to see what it was. I've posted a picture below. (He did throw it back out into the water afterward.)
