IT WORKED!
The pet cage came on Wednesday and since then Jerry has not bothered the humidifier. He can get his paws through the cage, but it's not any fun for him. The humidifier is also behaving. ;-)

There was a gastrointestinal illness that broke out at Verlie's nursing home on Thursday. This is what I had to wear to visit her:
