Writing prompt: Destination.
Dad and I started "family training" at Mom's rehab facility yesterday. The goal - a "destination" of sorts - is for us to be able to safely assist Mom when she is home.
Yesterday we practiced transfers (from bed to wheelchair) and stairs. Stronger leg goes first when ascending the stairs; weaker leg goes first when descending. Mom is able to do all of this on her own, while we act as spotters. She did great!
We are scheduled for more training this afternoon. (Maybe we'll get trained on transferring to the potty!) Things are looking good for her anticipated discharge date of April 22nd. :)
