When I was in high school, my grandmother (Mom's mom) took our family to Florida for our Spring break. We were all pretty sunburnt after our first full day there, and I remember my mother saying, "We did not tan sensibly." (And I think those may have been her exact words. Although I can't prove that.)
Today, my friend Penny brought her three children to visit and we went to the beach. It was kind of drizzly when we first got there, and the sky wasn't very bright. Penny and I enjoyed chatting while her kids played in the sand and in the ocean. By the time we left the beach, the weather had picked up and the sun was out....
I did not tan sensibly. Let's leave it at that.
