I enjoy watching the game itself, but the best part happens before the first pitch is even thrown: the introduction of the players. If you miss that, then you might as well not watch.
Although I am rooting for the American League to win tonight, I really don't care all that much. I would have cared if the outcome of the game determined which league has home-field advantage for the World Series. But that is no longer the case.... So now the All-Star Game is truly just that: an all-star game.
