Lew's Logbook: FB

(Lew shares his social media wisdom with his post today. Take heed. ~ Tracy)

It’s not that hard to enjoy Facebook. I often hear people say they don’t have time or that they don’t like what they see on FB so they don’t bother. I’m not advocating that people should be on FB, I’m just saying that those excuses don’t work. There have been many occasions when I have said to someone, “you would have known that if you were on FB”.

First rule of FB, don’t allow people to be in your news feed unless you really are interested in their life. This will probably eliminate up to 70 or 80% of your “friends”. Simply accept their friend request (don’t want to hurt feelings) and then hide them.

Second rule, if someone is posting political, religious or tasteless stuff that you don’t like, just hide them. Don’t allow yourself to be aggravated. It is not that hard to manage your FB account. You will learn things about people that you would like to know and you’ll have some friends that will share funny and interesting posts.

Finally, if it is taking too much time to go through your news feed, do some more trimming. Keep it manageable and you’ll enjoy it more.
