Road Trip to Memory Lane

Dad, Lew, and I went to Sanford/Springvale this afternoon for cousin Carol's graveside memorial service. It was a beautiful service, and we were able to speak with Carol's husband, Lester, a couple times.

We also stopped to pick up a whole bunch of super beef sandwiches. As Dad indicated in his post on Wednesday, there is no better sandwich in the world. So yummy!

We had some time before the sandwiches were ready, so we drove around a bit. Dad pointed out houses where he and other family members used to live. We even went by the house that we lived in when I was in kindergarten.

One house on our route had a cute little shed-like structure in the yard. He said it was his cousin Betty's dollhouse. Very whimsical looking. I'm glad the current homeowners left it standing.

We had a lovely afternoon.
