Dad 450: The "All Clear!"

(My day: snow and headache. A good day to stay home, so I did! Enjoy Dad's post! ~ Tracy)

 

Derf Here! Snowed last night and this morning. Officially, seven inches in Portland. All cleared up this morning.

 

Well, I saw my infectious disease doctor yesterday. Had blood drawn to check if it was still clear. Got a call yesterday afternoon and was told my blood was still clear of infection and bacteria. So I'm all done with infectious disease doctor unless something else happens. I'm free!!! Whoopee!!!

 

Back to my foot doctor and carefully checking any bruises that I have on my nine toes. Will take good care of any other situations. Hope I'll never face sepsis again.

 

The couch is used by Spouse and me daily. She gets good use of her iPad.

 

Congratulations to grandson Zack as he will be signing with University of Maine (Orono) to play D-1 football. He will be rooming with the quarterback that he won the high school state championship with. (The quarterback spent a year of post-graduate for football and studies.) They are both happy for their accommodations.

It's Hibernation Time!

We've had a relatively mild winter, but another storm is expected to start any minute now. I am home from work early, so I will miss the messy commute. (Sometimes having a headache is a good thing!)

I was chatting with a lovely young woman at church on Sunday, and she offered her idea of us all hibernating until winter is over. Her observation was unsolicited by me, but I wholeheartedly offered my agreement. She truly is wise beyond her years.

A Dream Realized . . . ?

When Luanne and I went shopping last Saturday, I bought three pairs of these trousers by roz & ALI.  (Three because I wanted black, blue, and gray.)

It is the closest I will come to realizing my lifelong dream of being a spy. 😏

Dad 449: A Post-Super-Bowl Post

(Yes, I came up with the title of today's entry. It's not my best work.... But enjoy Dad's post anyway! ~ Tracy)

 

Derf Here! Another nice day. Only about 30° today. Yesterday up to 63° in Maine on February 5th. We'll take it!

 

Well, the Super Bowl was not a high-scoring affair. The right team won for all the Northeast people. Congrats to the coaches and team players for another world championship. Their sixth win in nine appearances since 2001. Not bad!!

 

We've gained one hour of daylight as now it is not dark until after 5 o'clock. February is one week old now and only has three more weeks. Hurry up and let March in. Please!

 

Spouse and I are getting along pretty well on our couch daily as we get caught up with some game shows and Gunsmoke.

 

Will go to my infectious disease doctor soon and hope everything is good. Let you know next week.

A Milestone...?

On Saturday I went shopping with my friend Luanne.

We had lunch at IHOP. (Yum.) As I perused the menu, I gasped when I got toward one of the latter pages....

This page had a section of specials for the 55+ crowd... as in people 55 years of age and older... as in people considered to be seniors... as in... me! 😩

I quickly turned to the front of the menu and ordered a stack of Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity® Pancakes topped with glazed strawberries.  🍓

Number Six

I have been a delinquent blogger. I actually do have a few things to write about now, but I will stretch them out over several posts.

There was a football game last night — something called the "Super Bowl" — and the team I wanted to win actually won. (They hardly ever win. 😉)

Lew and I haven't really followed the NFL for a couple years, but we began to make a careful return to it late this season.  Lew has watched more than I have, and that included last night's game. In fact, I didn't watch most of the second half (opted to read instead). But I did watch the last couple minutes. It was relatively stress-free viewing.

That was ring number six for the Patriots.

And the Red Sox are the reigning World Series champions.

It's good to be a New England sports fan.
