I just finished up a 24-hour stint of hosting David and Laura's two girls. The girls are in 2nd grade and kindergarten, but they are already wise to many ways of the world....
I was driving them to gymnastics class after school yesterday when one of them asked me for a pen. I told her I had a pen in my purse but I wouldn't be able to get it while I was driving.
Thus began a discussion of other things one shouldn't do while driving. For example, texting or putting on lipstick.
Then the older girl made an observation, which was followed up on by her younger sister:
"But it's okay if you're the passenger... like when you're married...."
".... And you're the girl!"
